Do I need an Accountant?
Many individuals and companies choose not to employ accountants and prepare their own accounts and tax returns. The danger with this is that unless you understand accounting and taxation laws and regulations, it is very easy to make costly mistakes.
Accountants study for years to gain our qualifications, knowledge, understanding and experience. We continue to further our knowledge and keep up to date with all the appropriate laws, legislations and regulations.
We aren't simply here to fill out forms or create reports, we can ensure that you are making the most of all allowances and benefits that are available to you, we can help manage business assets and ensure they are being utilised to your advantage, we can advise on the most tax efficient way to run your business not to mention taking away from you the burden of year end procedures.
Employing an accountant is a wise investment, we say this not from a bias point of view but one of experience.
Do you offer a free initial consultation?
Yes. We offer a discovery call to understand your circumstances and confirm whether we’re a good fit. This is a discussion, not a sales call, and there’s no obligation to proceed.
How do your fees work?
We believe in clear, upfront pricing.
Fees are confirmed after an initial discussion and are based on the complexity and scope of the work involved. Once agreed, fees are confirmed in writing so there are no surprises.
Do you work with clients outside of Hertfordshire & Essex?
Yes. Although we’re UK-based, we work with clients nationwide using secure digital systems.
Can you help if I’ve fallen behind or have historic issues?
In many cases, yes.
If you’re behind with filings or have received correspondence from HMRC, we can review the situation and advise on the best way forward. This will always be approached calmly, professionally, and compliantly.
I don’t have all my records - can you still help?
Yes. Many clients come to us without perfect records.
We’ll explain what’s required, help you gather what’s available, and advise on next steps. The key is being open and proactive.
Do you deal with HMRC on my behalf?
Yes. Once authorised, we can liaise with HMRC directly, deal with correspondence, and support you through queries or enquiries where appropriate.
Do you offer tax planning?
Yes - where appropriate.
We provide practical, compliant tax planning advice focused on efficiency and clarity. We do not offer aggressive or artificial tax avoidance schemes.
Do you support Making Tax Digital (MTD ITSA)?
Yes.
We support clients with MTD ITSA registration, software setup, quarterly submissions, and end-of-year final declarations. We’ll ensure you’re prepared well ahead of mandatory deadlines.
What types of clients do you work best with?
We work best with clients who:
Value clear communication
Want things done properly
Are open to advice and explanation
Prefer a calm, professional approach
What if you’re not the right fit?
If we feel we’re not the right fit for your needs, we’ll tell you honestly and, where possible, point you in the right direction.
